Competenze di lingua araba pari al livello B1+
Il corso ha l’obiettivo di sviluppare le abilità di comprensione, rielaborazione e traduzione di testi in arabo standard di difficoltà media ed elevata, legati preferibilmente all’ambito della comunicazione e cooperazione internazionale e interculturale. Il corso si propone di potenziare la conoscenza dei linguaggi specialistici e dei registri utilizzati nell’ambito della comunicazione e cooperazione internazionale e interculturale. Il corso si prefigge inoltre di rafforzare le basi per una produzione in lingua araba sempre più autonoma. Il corso prevede inoltre attività di ascolto e comprensione dell’orale.

Al termine del corso lo studente avrà:
1. rafforzato e ampliato le proprie conoscenze in grammatica avanzata della lingua araba;
2. sviluppato una miglior e più completa padronanza lessicale, anche nell’ambito di linguaggi specialistici;
3. potenziato la propria conoscenza e comprensione di un’ampia gamma di strutture ed espressioni dell’arabo standard;
4. acquisito competenze di traduzione anche specializzata;
5. migliorato la capacità di ascolto e comprensione dell’orale.
Le attività riguarderanno la traduzione arabo – italiano di testi autentici tratti da siti-web di organizzazioni internazionali, dalla stampa araba e da riviste; la comprensione e la rielaborazione di testi in arabo. Le attività di analisi testuale e traduzione saranno accompagnate da approfondimenti lessicali, grammaticali e sintattici. Verranno proposti esercizi di ascolto guidato per migliorare le competenze di comprensione dell’orale. Una parte del corso sarà inoltre dedicata alla traduzione specializzata. Per gli studenti del II anno è previsto un seminario di traduzione.

La lezione prevede momenti di spiegazione frontale e attività guidate da svolgersi in coppie o piccoli gruppi, esercitazioni alla traduzione e alla manipolazione del testo in aula e a casa, uso di materiali audio e video, uso della piattaforma e-learning Moodle. Sono previste ore di addestramento linguistico (conversazione ed esercitazioni in classe; esercizi a casa; lavoro a distanza online) e un seminario di traduzione rivolto esclusivamente agli studenti del II anno.
Prove scritte e orali
Studenti di Lingua Araba LM I
Prova scritta – (punteggio massimo: 18/18, superamento con il voto minimo di 11/18)
a) esercizi di comprensione di un testo complesso in arabo moderno standard; b) traduzione dall’arabo all’italiano di una sezione dello stesso testo; c) traduzione dall’italiano all’arabo di un testo complesso; uso del dizionario consentito. La prova verte su argomenti trattati durante i corsi ufficiali e le attività di apprendimento linguistico (AAL).
Prova orale – (punteggio massimo: 12/12, superamento con il voto minimo di 7/12)
a) domande teoriche di lingua; b) colloquio in lingua durante il quale gli studenti dovranno dimostrare di saper leggere e comprendere un testo non vocalizzato e di sapersi esprimere correttamente in arabo moderno standard su argomenti trattati durante i corsi ufficiali e le AAL.
Studenti di Lingua Araba LM II
Prova scritta – (punteggio massimo: 16/16, superamento con il voto minimo di 9/16)
a) esercizi di comprensione di un testo complesso in arabo moderno standard; b) traduzione dall’arabo all’italiano di una sezione dello stesso testo; c) traduzione dall’italiano all’arabo di un testo complesso; uso del dizionario consentito. La prova verte su argomenti trattati durante i corsi ufficiali e le attività di apprendimento linguistico (AAL).
Prova orale – (punteggio massimo: 12/12, superamento con il voto minimo di 7/12)
a) lettura, comprensione e analisi di un testo non vocalizzato; b) colloquio in lingua durante il quale gli studenti dovranno dimostrare di sapersi esprimere correttamente in arabo moderno standard su argomenti trattati durante i corsi ufficiali e le AAL; c) test di traduzione consecutiva, mediazione e trattativa. Concorre alla formulazione del voto finale anche il risultato del test di traduzione e sottotitolaggio audiovisivi (max 2 punti). Per gli studenti del secondo anno le prove includono anche le attività e gli argomenti trattati nel seminario di traduzione.
Per gli studenti che sostengono l’esame di Lingua araba LM IB/IIB (5 Cfu, 2° semestre), il voto finale è calcolato sulla base delle valutazioni (prove scritte e orali) relative al corso ufficiale (max 23/30) e ai risultati ottenuti nei test che hanno per oggetto le competenze sviluppate durante le AAL del 2° semestre (max 7/30). Per gli studenti che sostengono l’esame di Lingua araba LM I/II (10 Cfu, 1° e 2° semestre), le prove sono inclusive delle attività e degli argomenti svolti durante i corsi ufficiali del 1° e del 2° semestre (Lingua araba LM I/IIA + Lingua araba LM I/IIB) e dei test relativi alle AAL. Esclusivamente per gli studenti del secondo anno le prove includono anche le attività e gli argomenti trattati nel seminario di traduzione.
Gli studenti che intendano seguire gli addestramenti di arabo vernacolare egiziano, non obbligatorio, possono sostenere anche il relativo colloquio il cui risultato verrà preso in considerazione nella formulazione finale del voto.
La prova orale potrà essere affrontata solo dopo il superamento della prova scritta. I risultati delle prove scritte saranno pubblicati on-line sulle piattaforme e-learning Moodle e notificati direttamente agli studenti.
Gli studenti sono caldamente invitati a partecipare alle lezioni del corso ufficiale e alle AAL previste. È possibile inoltre aderire a gruppi di studio guidato organizzati presso il Centro Competenza Lingue (CCL). Durante le AAL gli studenti del I anno affronteranno argomenti di grammatica e si eserciteranno nella traduzione, lavoreranno su testi orali e scritti, svolgendo attività di ascolto, lettura, comprensione e produzione, sia scritta sia orale in lingua araba. Le AAL dedicate agli studenti del II anno saranno formulate in brevi moduli (10/15 ore) d’introduzione a: traduzione specialistica (arabo-italiano); traduzione e sottotitolaggio audiovisivi; mediazione e trattativa; interpretazione consecutiva; esposizione ed espressione orale. Il programma è identico per studenti frequentanti e non frequentanti. Per l’iscrizione alle piattaforme e-learning Moodle - OBBLIGATORIA al fine di poter sostenere l’esame - è necessario chiedere ai docenti la chiave d'accesso. Tutte le prove di cui si compone l’esame devono essere superate entro 18 mesi dalla prima prova sostenuta. B1+ Arabic level
This module aims to enhance student’s ability in understanding and translating Arabic texts preferably linked to the fields of international and intercultural communication and cooperation.
This module aims at deepening student’s knowledge of specialized languages and registers
related to the fields of international and intercultural communication and cooperation. This module will also encourage the student to be more autonomous in language production.
At the end of this module a student will have:
1. improved his/her knowledge of advanced Arabic grammar;
2. acquired detailed knowledge and understanding of a wide range of Arabic vocabulary;
3. improved her/his knowledge and understanding of a wide range of Arabic structures and expressions;
4. acquired specialized translation skills.
5. Improved oral comprehension skills.
Supervised translation from Arabic to Italian of texts from websites of international organizations, from the press and journals; reading and comprehension exercises; written production in Arabic. The activities of textual analysis and translation will be accompanied by lexical, grammatical and syntactic close examinations. Listening exercises in order to improve oral comprehension skills. A part of the module will be devoted to the specialized translation of at least two specific genres. Only for students of the II year there is a translation seminar.

Weekly seminars, lectures, exercises in class and at home, use of audio and visual materials, Moodle e-learning platform. Lessons of language training with native speakers are provided for all students (speaking and exercises class; exercises at home; online distance work) and a translation seminar for students of the 2nd year.
Written and oral tests
Students of Arabic Language LM I
Written test – (maximum score: 18/18, minimum passing mark: 11/18) a) reading comprehension exercises of a text in Modern Standard Arabic; b) written translation (Arabic-Italian) of a section of the same text; c) written translation of a text from Italian to Arabic; dictionary allowed. The test is related to the topics addressed during the Arabic language modules A and B and the AAL.
Oral test - (maximum score: 12/12, minimum passing mark: 7/12)
a) questions about Arabic language; b) interview during which the student
must show his/her skills in reading and understanding a Modern
Standard Arabic text and has to express properly in MSA in relation to the topics addressed in the modules A and B and the AAL.
Students of Arabic Language LM II
Written test – (maximum score: 16/16, minimum passing mark: 9/16) a) reading comprehension exercises of a text in Modern Standard Arabic; b) written translation (Arabic-Italian) of a section of the same text; c) written translation of a text from Italian to Arabic; dictionary allowed. The test is related to the topics addressed during the Arabic language modules A and B and the AAL.
Oral test - (maximum score: 12/12, minimum passing mark: 7/12)
a) interview during which the student must show his/her skills in reading, understanding and analysing a Modern Standard Arabic text; b) interview during which the student has to express properly in MSA in relation to the topics addressed in the modules A and B and the AAL; c)
consecutive translation test, mediation and negotiation. The result of the audiovisual translation and subtitling test (max 2 points) contributes to the formulation of the final grade. Only for students of the II year, the tests also include a section devoted to the activities and topics addressed in the translation seminar.
The final grade of students who take the exam of Arabic language LM IB/IIB
(5 credits, 2nd semester) is calculated on the basis of total points earned in written and oral tests of the official course (max 23/30) and the results obtained in the tests concerning the skills developed during the language training activities AAL of the 2nd semester (max 7/30). The final grade for students who take the exam of Arabic language LM I/II (10 credits, 1st and 2nd semesters) includes the topics and the activities addressed during the modules of the 1st and 2nd semesters (Arabic Language LM I/IIA + Arabic Language LM I/IIB) and the tests of the AAL. Only for students of the II year, the tests also include a section devoted to the activities and topics addressed in the translation seminar.
Students wishing to follow the training activities of Egyptian Arabic, not compulsory, can also take this test, the result of which will be considered in the final assessment.
The oral test can be taken only after passing the written test.
Written tests results will be published on-line and notified from e-learning platform.
Students are highly recommended to attend lectures and training activities AAL. Students can also join guided study-groups at the Centro Competenza Lingue (CCL). During the Language training activities (AAL) students will learn grammar structures and practice translation, and will work on oral and written texts, carrying out activities of listening, reading, comprehensio and written/oral production in Modern Standard Arabic language. The language training activities (AAL) for second year students will be organised in short modules (10/15 hours) of introduction to: specialized translation (Arabic-Italian); audiovisual translation and subtitling; mediation and negotiation; consecutive interpretation; oral expression. The course contents are the same for attending and non-attending students. For registration to the e-learning Moodle Platforms - COMPULSORY in order to take the exam - students must ask the teachers the access key.
