Livello B1 della Lingua Inglese (Quadro Comune di Riferimento Europeo)
Sul piano metalinguistico, gli obiettivi si riassumono nell’analisi dei generi testuali e delle relative
strategie retoriche principalmente usate in FB, Twitter e nei Blog in lingua inglese. Gli obiettivi
formativi sono altresì coerenti con quelli del Corso di Studio in Scienze della Comunicazione nel quale
si situa il Modulo didattico in oggetto, con riferimento all'AREA 10 che affronta il ruolo della lingua
inglese nel discorso dei Social Network nei vari contesti anglosassoni. Gli obiettivi formativi del Corso
sono infine coerenti con il settore L-LIN/12, essendo focalizzati sullo studio degli aspetti relativi alla
lingua inglese significativi per la disciplina (Competenza nella lingua Inglese a livello B2+ (Vantage) del
Common European Framework.
Il corso illustra i tratti essenziali del linguaggio nei Social Network e nei blog in lingua inglese. L’analisi
morfosintatica e lessicale verra sviluppata con letture e commenti dei testi autentici in classe.
La didattica si svolgerà tramite lezioni frontali, ma con un'attenzione particolare al confronto e al dialogo
diretto con gli studenti, che potranno, durante le lezioni, formulare proposte di approfondimento o
dibattito. Gli studenti potranno inoltre accedere alle attività di esercitazione linguistica previste
nell’ambito dell’orario settimanale per il loro livello di competenza, nonché alle attività di tutoring
previste nel corso dell’anno.
Per sostenere l'esame di questo modulo è indispensabile avere maturato i 10 cfu di Lingua inglese I,
superando le varie parti del relativo esame.
La prova scritta e l’esame orale possono essere sostenuti soltanto al termine del corso. Per accedere
all’esame orale lo studente dovrà aver superato l’esame scritto.
L’esame è composto da prova scritta e prova orale
Gli studenti possono sostenere l'orale SOLO dopo aver superato la prova scritta (pass/fail). La prova
orale deve essere sostenuta entro 18 mesi da superamento della prova scritta.
A) Prova scritta
I dizionari non sono ammessi.
Il test è informatizzato (Use of English e Vocabulary)
B) prova orale.
Per la prova orale si richiede (a) analisi in lingua inglese di 10 articoli (blog e forum) di almeno 1000
parole e di un corpus di 200 tweet e 10 pagine FB; (b) a sostenere un colloquio in inglese sui temi
affrontati nell'ambito delle lezioni sul linguaggio dei blog e dei social networkse sui libri di testo in
programma.
La prova orale si svolgerà in lingua inglese. Durante la prova orale, lo studente fa una presentazione sul language of social media illustrando delle particolarità' del linguaggio tipico utilizzato sui SM.
Gli studenti non frequentanti sono invitati a contattare il docente almeno due mesi prima della prova
orale.
Gli studenti che nel corso degli ultimi 5 anni solari abbiano conseguito le seguenti certificazioni
internazionali a livello B2:

- TIE (min. level: B2/C1 in both oral and written tests)

il riconoscimento delle certificazioni sopra citate è disponibile nel sito internet dell’università.
Qualora l'insegnamento venisse impartito in modalità mista o a distanza potranno essere introdotte modifiche rispetto a quanto dichiarato nel syllabus per rendere il corso e gli esami fruibili anche secondo queste modalità

B1 level of English - Threshold (Common European Framework)
On a metalinguistic level, the educational goals are summarized in the analysis of the textual genres and
the relevant rhetorical strategis employed in FB, Twitter and various English Blogs. The educational
goals are also coherent with those of the Communication Sciences Degree where the module is held
(with reference to AREA no. 10), which is focussed on the analysis of the discourse of Social Networks in
English. The educational goals of this module are also coherent with the L-LIN/12 sector. Indeed, they
are focussed on the study of the English language at a B2+ (Vantage) level of competence in English of
the Common European Framework.
The discourse of blogs and Social Networks. Lexical and grammatical analysis developed through
reading, translation and commentary on texts considered in the classroom.
The course will be based on lectures, but special attention will be given to debate and students will be
encouraged to suggest topics for further analysis. Students will also be invited to attend the language
practice sessions planned within the weekly schedule for their level of competence, and any tutoring
activities on offer throughout the year.
This exam can be taken only by students who have earned the 10 credits of English Language I.
The written test and the oral exam may be taken only at the end course.
The exam comprises a written test and an oral one. Students are allowed to take the oral test ONLY after
passing the written test (pass/fail); the oral test should be taken in any case within 18 months after
passing the written test.
A)Written computerised test (Use of English).
Dictionaries are not allowed
B) Oral exam.
Oral exam: (a) analysis in English of 10 articles (blogs and forums) of at least 1000 words and of a corpus of 200 tweets and 10 FB pages (b) interview with the professor about the topics dealt with in the
classes and the readings.
During the oral exam the student will give a short presentation focusing on the language of social media illustrating the particularities of the language typically used on SM.
Non-attending students are kindly requested to get in touch with the professor at least two months before
the oral exam.
