Course content

The module addresses the theme of the meeting / clash of cultures and spatiality is taken up as arena of confrontation of social groups in search of the foundations of their culture and shared values; it is also investigated by means of its primary representations, ie landscape and mapping. The former is considered as a text capable of communicating cultural meanings and social values with particular attention to the role it has assumed in the tourism sector; the second is proposed as a symbolic mediator able to convey the sense and the social consistency of the territory, showing its application in the area of tourism enhancement of territories.
