C1 level of French (Common European Framework).
At the end of the course, the students will have improved their competences at an advanced C1 level for French language LM I, C1/C2 for LM II (European Framework of Reference). The students will have acquired critical skills about the translation.
On translation.
This module aims to develop a critical reflection on translation, with regard to the French debate starting with Paul Ricoeur. It will also take into consideration the fictional turn, at the center of numerous contemporary cultural productions.
Lectures. Particular attention is paid to the discussion and direct dialogue with the students. During the year, students may be required individual or group works that contribute to the final evaluation. Students can also access the training activities organized for their level of competency, as well as tutoring activities planned during the year (see Language Competence Centre site).
The exam on the module consists of an oral test in French language. Students are required to answer questions concerning the module subject extensively covered on the books’ list provided. Group or individual works, required during the year, will be taken into account as part of the final evaluation. In order to take the oral test, students must have passed written tests concerning linguistic skills. The written tests are organized as follows:
-LM I, 10 CFU (mod. A + B): thème littéraire + version littéraire.
- LM II, 5 CFU: thème littéraire (traduzione letteraria dall'italiano al francese) + compte rendu (resoconto scritto a partire da un video).

If the course is taught in mixed mode or remotely, they can be introduced changes compared to what is stated in the syllabus to make the course and exams usable also in these ways.
