Al termine del corso lo studente avrà acquisito:
● le conoscenze storico-culturali della letteratura francese moderna e contemporanea, con particolare riferimento alle interrelazioni fra letteratura, estetica e scienze umane;
● le competenze per analizzare testi letterari appartenenti a periodi e generi diversi secondo una metodologia interdisciplinare e transdisciplinare.
L’IMMAGINARIO DEL GIARDINO NELLA CULTURA OCCIDENTALE.
L'immaginario dei giardini sfida lo stereotipo che vorrebbe i Lumi sotto l'influenza della sola ragione. Sta al Settecento europeo, a partire dal modello inglese dei giardini, ripensare il rapporto con la natura. Il corso disegna il quadro delle diverse teorizzazioni, sottolineando l'elemento aptico che ne è alla base. Il giardino si trasforma allora in una macchina delle emozioni volta a interpretare la comparsa di nuove sensibilità che riguardano lo spazio, il tempo e la memoria. Le realizzazioni di Carmontelle, in particolare, ispirate al modello delle wunderkammern, introducono un radicale cambiamento di prospettiva che inaugura una concezione pre-filmica dello sguardo che giunge ai nostri giorni.
La didattica si svolgerà attraverso lezioni frontali con proiezioni di materiali audiovisivi. Particolare attenzione verrà dedicata al dialogo con lo studente.
La verifica dell'apprendimento prevede un esame orale o un test scritto facoltativo in data da concordarsi con la docente all’esordio dello svolgimento del corso.
Le abilità verificate sia all'orale sia allo scritto riguardano:
● lettura e analisi critica dei testi discussi nel corso;
● capacità di contestualizzare i testi rispetto al panorama letterario e culturale di pertinenza;
● acquisizione di metodi interdisciplinari nell'approccio al testo letterario.
Il test scritto facoltativo, della durata di un’ora, verterà sull’analisi di 3 brevi testi oggetto del programma. L’esito del test andrà formalizzato previa iscrizione online ad uno degli appelli ufficiali entro e non oltre la sessione autunnale.
Qualora l'insegnamento venisse impartito in modalità mista o a distanza potranno essere introdotte modifiche rispetto a quanto dichiarato nel syllabus per rendere il corso e gli esami fruibili anche secondo queste modalità

By the end of the course, students will have acquired
● the historical and cultural knowledge of modern and contemporary French literature, with particular reference to the interrelationships between literature, aesthetics and the humanities;
● the skills to analyse literary texts from different periods and genres using an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary methodology.
THE GARDEN IMAGINARY IN WESTERN CULTURE.
The garden imaginary challenges the stereotype that would have the Enlightenment under the influence of reason alone. It is up to the European 18th century, starting with the English model of gardens, to rethink the relationship with nature. The course draws a picture of the different theorisations, emphasising the haptic element that underlies them. The garden then becomes a machine of the emotions aimed at interpreting the emergence of new sensitivities concerning space, time and memory. Carmontelle's realisations, in particular, inspired by the model of the wunderkammern, introduce a radical change of perspective that inaugurates a pre-filmic conception of the gaze that reaches our days.
The course will take place through lectures and projections of audiovisual materials. The dialogue with the student will be favored.
Verification of learning involves an optional oral examination or written test on a date to be agreed with the professor at the beginning of the course.
The skills tested in both the oral and written examinations are as follows
● reading and critical analysis of the texts discussed in the course;
● ability to contextualise the texts in relation to the relevant literary and cultural panorama;
● acquisition of interdisciplinary methods;
acquisition of interdisciplinary methods in the approach to literary texts.
The optional written test, lasting one hour, will focus on the analysis of three short texts covered by the programme. The results of the test must be formalised following online registration for one of the official exams no later than the autumn session.
If the course is taught in a mixed way (online/in praesentia) or completely online, changes may be introduced with respect to the contents of the syllabus, to make the course and the exams available in any case.
