Since October 2021, I am assistant professor in Sociology at the University of Bergamo.
From 2016 to 2021, I worked as a senior researcher at GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Cologne (Germany), where I headed the Survey Data Augmentation team, in the Department of Survey Data Curation. Prior to GESIS, I was a researcher at the University of Aberdeen in the ArabTransitions project. I worked as a trainer in UNICEF-AVSI projects in Lebanon with modules on promoting gender equality in refugee camps. I have been part of EU-funded research projects on issues of social change, gender equality, social and economic participation, with research and coordination roles.
My expertise is in quantitative methods, survey methodology and cross-national comparison. My research focuses on the methodological aspects of measuring attitudes toward gender roles in cross-cultural studies, gender norms and work-life balance, social transformations in the interaction between institutional structures and individual values.
I am the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the European Values Study (EVS) and President of the European Survey Research Association.
I am co-editor of the European Values Series, a book series published in Open Access by Open Press Tilburg Universty. I am member of the Editorial Staff of Studi di Sociologia (A ANVUR Category – 14/C1; C2; C3; D1).
