Fabio Cleto insegna Storia culturale e Letteratura inglese. Si interessa di storia del presente, cultura visiva, teoria queer, politica della rappresentazione e medialità. Fabio Cleto teaches Cultural History and English Literature. An authority on the theory and practice of camp (on which he published books in 1999, 2006, and 2008) , his research interests include cultural studies, visual culture, queerness, gender theory, history of the present and the politics of representation. He has also published books on nineteenth-century literary dissidence (2001), on American queer pulp fiction (2004, 2008), on Ronald Firbank (2012), on the mid-1960s transatlantic cultural economy (2013), on the obscenity of the Noughties (2014), and on serial time (2018). He has written for cinema, television, newspapers and the web; he has also edited academic book series and directed cultural festivals. In 2019, his work inspired the Camp: Notes on Fashion exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
