Stefano Tomelleri is full professor of Sociology in the Department of Human and Social Sciences at University of Bergamo, where is Deputy Rector of Participatory Planning. He is Vice-President of Italian Sociological Association 2020-2022 triennium. From 2012 to 2018 he is Deputy Director of the CYFE - Center for Young and Family Enterprise University of Bergamo Research Centre
He directed the national group of international research promoted, in the period from 21 June 2011 to 31 March 2012, by the Research Center of ARS VIVENDI of Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan, and by the University of Bergamo for the development of joint research projects, the organization of seminars and conferences, the exchange of researchers, students and bibliographic materials of common interest. In the academic year 2012/2013 he was Head of Research Project Evaluation Studies for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada - Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada as part of research related to "Ressentiment and multiculturalism". Since 2016 Stefano Tomelleri has been on the scientific committee of the Responsible Welfare Network, made up of 16 Italian Universities, which studies the new configurations of the welfare system in the current demographic, social, and economic scenario. He is member of editorial board of the Scientific Journal: Studi di sociologia, Salute e Società, Sicurezza e Società, Transculturale, Bulletin of the Transilvania University, Series VII-Social Siences-Law e Acta Biomedica for Health Professions.
Stefano Tomelleri is the author of more than one hundred publications at the national and international level (scientific articles, books, etc.) has organized national and international conferences, has participated in numerous conferences as a keynote speaker.
