Alberta Giorgi is senior assistant professor in Sociology of culture and communication at the University of Bergamo, associate researcher of the research groups GSRL (Paris) and CRAFT (Turin), and the research centre CES (Coimbra). She is currently the chair of the research networks Political Sociology (ESA) and serves in the board of the research network Sociology of Religion (AIS). She is part of the editorial board of the journals Partecipazione e Conflitto and Polis, and the book series Gendering the Study of Religion (Routledge). She works on the intersections of religion and politics – namely secularism, and gender and religion. Among her publications: "Populism, Gender and Religion", Identities special issue, guest edited with Cristian Norocel (2022); "Populism and Science", guest edited with Hande Eslen-Ziya (Palgrave-MacMillan 2022).
